■ Introduction to Jindaiji Temple:
Jindaiji Temple, located in Chofu City, Tokyo, is a venerable old temple founded in 733, and boasts the second longest history in Tokyo after Sensoji Temple.
With Gensan Daishi as its principal deity, the temple has attracted many worshippers since ancient times as a sacred place for "good luck," "good marriage," and "protection from bad luck.
The goma prayer (ogoma) for victory is especially popular among athletes and students preparing for entrance exams, and is still practiced by many people today.
The temple grounds are surrounded by abundant nature, and many long-established soba noodle stores line the street in front of the gate, making "Jindaiji soba" widely known as one of Tokyo's traditional food culture.
